G.I Joe Action Figurines – Buffy the Vampire Slayer Action Figures

The toy industry is a multi-billion dollar industry. Even as only a small slice of that overall pie, action figures are big money. And they’re not just for kids. For millions of people action figures are a serious hobby and for thousands and thousands, it’s a livelihood.

Yep, you can make some serious money buying and selling them. If you want to make money you can’t specialize. And that’s why I don’t make any money…. I really just like Buffy the Vampire Slayer action figures. Super heroes, boring. Transformers or GI Joe or Barbie (after all that what she is or maybe rather, that’s really what action figures are — they are dolls), they are all boring for me.

The television show was so great and it was on during a really influential time in my life so I really feel close to the characters. Having a Buffy figure or a Willow figure is important to me. The other characters are cool too. I mean, Joyce, the mom, is so great. And of course, Angel, that hottie! The writing in the show was wonderful that I feel like I know these people. Well, in fact I feel like they’re people!

I’m not saying that people should “invest” in action figures like you invest in the stock market. If you have an interest, if it’s a hobby anyway, then spending the money is no big deal and if you recoup or make money when (if) you sell them, then it’s all for the better. If you want to try to turn your hobby into a side business, you have to think long and hard. These days, in this economy, you have to decide if you can make it. People are being wiser with their money, so will you find a buyer for that $200 uber-rare collectible? Maybe, probably but how long will it take? Can you have that item sitting around for 6 months? You have to be able to honestly answer these sorts of questions or this business is not for you.

Even though Buffy the Vampire Slayer has been off the air for close to 10 years, it’s still a great series. They keep making new figurines and people like me will keep buying them. Take a look, if you haven’t before, there are tons of new and used Buffy action figures at eBay and Amazon.
